The Bigfork Art & Cultural Center has become the Bigfork Museum of Art & History. After 30 years of being a premier Art Center the board of directors decided to get back to the roots of the organization and resurrect the Historical Museum that was once part of the Center. The Museum will retain its focus of showcasing the many talented artists of Montana as well as preserving the unique history of Bigfork and the surrounding area. With a new mission statement:
The Bigfork Museum of Art & History is dedicated to bringing an awareness and appreciation of the visual arts in Montana and the history of the Bigfork region. The museum seeks to inspire the visitor and community members through exhibitions, programs and collections in arts, sciences and the humanities. To offer these services and expand them as the needs and desires of the community dictate.
With this new focus the board and staff will be working with the community to expand our local history display as well as work with the natural history. The museum will also continue to bring quality art exhibitions to Bigfork from member shows to themed juried shows and highlighting the talented artists who have made Bigfork their home.
